March 20th, 2006 - Leisnig Cancelled
We are very sorry we had to cancel the Leisnig show again. In all the years that Second Chance has been playing shows (ever since 1996) we have had to cancel a total of four shows, two of which were in AJZ Leisnig! It's just bad luck I guess. Here's what happened. Friday, after the show in Moers (DE) John Patrick dislocated his knee while loading our gear into the van. At the hospital, it became pretty clear that he wouldn't be able to play a show on Saturday with this injury, so we had no other option left than to cancel the show and head back home. Since we and All For Nothing were sharing the same van and backline, they had to cancel too. Our sincere apologies go out to the promoters and of course the people who wanted to come and see us. We hope we you will let us make it up to you another time!
March 12th, 2006 - Robby Chance!!! |
As you might have read on our forum a little while ago, our former guitarist Wilco and his girl Monique have become the proud parents of "Robin Bastiaan", their new born son! He was born on January 20th and he is already our youngest fan!!!
More news: 10 Day Euro Tour with The Slumlords

June 13th, 2005 - New bass player!
Some of you might have already noticed that we have a new bass player. His name is Arjan "Der Bauer" Boertje and we all agree that he is a great gain for the band, not only musically but also as a person! Check him out on the new band photo in the Biography section of the website, he's the guy in the middle.

February 24th, 2005 - Hey all of you, wassup?
It’s been a while since I last spoke my mind on this website. I know, I promised to do this once a month, but unfortunately I had some other problems to deal with first. Personal problems, they had nothing to do with the band what so ever, so I’m not totally gonna open up to you on the website, but lets just say, if you’re a good looking girl, at least 26 years old (or a few years above), who likes bald singers with some tattoos, then e-mail your picture and phone number to me, 'cause you might just get lucky. I guess this should explane enough.
Well, it's hard to come up with a story about the things we did or are about to do with the band. I mean, we’ve played some shows in Belgium and Germany which were all just great. We made some new (drunk) German friends, and hung out with some friends we haven’t seen in a while. We added a few new fun memories to our fuzzy brains, including a blizzard on the top of a mountain somewhere in Germany and of course lots of them memories go hand in hand with loads of alcohol.
This weekend Perry and I are going to do the backing vocals on the new Discipline album. Which is gonna be just great by the way, probably because we’re on it! I mean, the last two albums were great too, and guess who were responsible for the backing vocals on them? It’s probably going to be a lot of fun again at Dé Studio, making fun of Dirks funny Belgian accent and of course some serious drinking (well that's if those cheep bastards bought us some beer for a change).
We’re still busy writing new songs, we got a lot of great idea's, cool riffs and hard lyrics - though we haven't really totally finished a single song yet. As soon as we do, you’ll be the first to know.
Well be playing some shows in Germany, Belgium and Holland in the next few months. Keep checking the Shows section on this website. Hopefully next time I have something more interesting to say. Until then, have fun and keep the oldskool spirit alive. And remember… if you’re a sweet and sexy 26 year old single girl, don’t forget to write me !! ;)
February 9th, 2005 - New interview online
We did an interview with a German web magazine called 'Work Together E-Zine'. They published it in both German and English, so please check it out right here.
November 10th, 2004 - Eastpak Resistance Charts

October 16th, 2004 - Dries speaks...
Hey what's up!
I promised to speak my mind every now and then on the website, and I (almost) always keep my promises. What's been going on last month?
Well, our new bass player Maurice found his place within the band, besides him being an okay "musician", he's also a fun guy to hang out with. He knows most of the songs by head now, so we all got the feeling we will have a steady line-up once again. We played a few gigs the past month, some good, some a little less good (but still not bad!) and once more I found out that performing on a weekend and being sober is not the best combination! I'm sorry, but I really need the booze! But that's nothing new to the people who know me a little!
A few months ago, we recorded "Poison Heart", a song for the Ramones tribute compilation. We still don't know when it's gonna be released (more info soon at www.shock-rock-records.com), but we've decided to play this one live. It's a little bit different, but we think it's a great song and it would be a shame not to play it. So be prepared next time you'll come to check us out!
|We added new show dates to the list, three in Germany and one in Vienna, Austria with Spider Crew. We haven't spent much time
with each other in one van yet cause with the current line up we haven't been outside of Holland much. So I really don't know
what to expect. But I'm pretty sure we're gonna have a fun time driving there, with 4 drunks clowning around in the van and
one (hopefully) sober but pissed off driver. (I mean, how would you feel if you have to drive 4 drunken assholes all across Germany?)
But we'll tell you about that next time.
That's all for now, hope to see you at one of our upcoming shows. Cheers!
September 28th, 2004 - Review on Aversion.Com
Just found out about a review about our album "Tides May Turn" on the US website "Aversion Online". Check it right here.
September 3rd, 2004 - A word from Dries
Hey there, wassup?
|The new season is coming up, actually it has already started. Since last year didn't go the way we hoped, we now want to make up for lost time. A second chance for Second Chance. As you might have read here on the "news" section of our website, we finally got a new bassplayer to complete our line-up. It's not the cutest guy on the block, but then again, you still have me to look at, so why should you care. His name is Maurice, 28 years old and... sorry for all the ladys and gay men... not single anymore. You're more then welcome to check him (and offcourse not to forget, me!!) out at one of our shows. Just check out the "shows" section on this website to find out if we are playing anywhere near your neighbourhood, or check with one of your friends if he can drive your drunk ass to one of our shows if its a bit further away. We've also got new merch!! Two new t-shirt designs with our brand new Jester Skull logo. Check out the picture! -->|
Well, thats it for now. Make sure you check back here once in a while, 'cause we'll try to keep you updated like this once every month.
Cheers and hope to see you at one of our shows!
July 15th, 2004 - Eastpak Resistance Charts

May 22nd, 2004 - Voorne Putten band competition
We got the 'audience choice award', but we didn't win the competition - a total and aparent lack of musical insight from the jury of course, hahaha. Anyway, our big thanks go out to all you who came and support us, voted for us and made the show a real party!!! Check the PICS section of this site for some photos from the show.
